Several Wildcats earn top-six at Harrisburg Eaton Relays
Linn track and field athletes delivered impressive performances at the Harrisburg Eaton Relays on Friday as several Wildcats secured top-six finishes.
“They earned medals and showcased their dedication and hard work,” said Coach Jennifer Bish. “In addition to the medals, many of our kids did an amazing job beating their own personal-best records for the season.”
The top three relays and top six individuals in each event earned a medal.
Genna Haslag clinched third place in the 3200m run (13:55.03), and Madison Wood also stood out, earning fifth place in the shot put (8.45m).
Other top-eight finishes included the 4x800 squad of Ruby Herndon, Shayla Burnett, Charli Lenger, and Kylie Messenger (6, 11:55.50), and the 4x400 team of Ruby Herndon, Nevaeh Ames, Kylie Messenger and Carley Brandt (7, 4:49.60)
The boys’ 4x200m relay team of Kahne Brandt, Aaden Nelson, Titus Black, and Cody Heckman had a strong third-place finish (1:38.84). Additionally, Cody Heckman earned sixth place in the 200m dash (24.54), contributing to Linn’s medal tally.
Nelson finished seventh in the triple jump (11.69m) while Black was eighth in the long jump (5.49m), and Jackson Hamburg placed eighth in the 3200m run (11:55.33).
