Sheriff’s Office asks for help in identifying car thief

The Osage County Sheriff’s Office is asking for your help in identifying an individual suspected of stealing a vehicle from a residence near Freeburg during the early morning hours of May 24.
Cpt. Travis Shaffer said the vehicle, a white Toyota Sequoia, has been recovered near St. Genevieve.
“We need the public’s help,” he said. “We canvassed areas in Freeburg and learned that this individual talked to others before taking this vehicle. We’re not sure what his connection is to Freeburg but we’re hoping someone has seen him or knows who he is.”
Shaffer added the department is still checking out leads and anyone with information is asked to contact Lieutenant Mark Williams at 573-897-2497 Ext. 815 or you can respond anonymously by private message to the OCSO Facebook page.
