CHAMOIS — The Osage County Sheriff’s Office conducted a 20-hour warrant roundup last Friday, focusing on those who have failed to appear in court. The full results of that action are not yet available, but at least three arrests were made.
The Sheriff’s Office wasted no time in serving the warrants.
“We want to make sure we’re holding those accountable who don’t show up for court as they’re required to,” said Osage County Sheriff Mike Bonham. “We want the victims of those wanted for failure to appear to know that we’re going to uphold the law to make sure those responsible for crimes against them are showing up for court, and, if not, the bench warrant is served.”
Citizens provided bottled water and sodas to the deputies when it became apparent they would be in town longer than anticipated after local businesses had closed, and Roomerz Restaurant and Bar reopened their kitchen to provide food.
Those arrested were transported to the Osage County Detention Center for booking.
