Shirley Sue Scheulen, 69, Rich Fountain, passed away Friday, July 2, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Sept. 23, 1951, to the late Floyd and Ethel Mae (Tennyson) Matthews in Loveland, Colo.

She was united in marriage to Paul A. Scheulen Dec. 27, 1986, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain.

Sue attended Grand Junction High School in Grand Junction, Colo. She was employed at Maytag and Scholastic in Jefferson City.

Sue enjoyed NASCAR races, going to the river, driving around, helping on the family farm, playing Criminal Case on the computer, fishing, bowling, watching the hummingbirds and wildlife. She loved nature whether it was on the farm or the mountains in Colorado. Her greatest love came from spending time with her family and always looked forward to visits from her grandchildren.

Sue was preceded in death by parents, Floyd and Ethel; son, Jon Paul “J.P.” Scheulen; sisters, Anne, Florence and Judy; and brother, Bob Matthews.

She is survived by spouse of 34 years, Paul; son, Nathan Martinez and wife Sarah of Miami, Fla.; daughters, Jennifer Hueste of Linn and Sarah Oliver and husband Michael of Rich Fountain; grandchildren, Mikey, Benjamin and Allis Oliver, Amber and Andy Hueste and Cole, Beau and Katie Martinez; brothers, Wayne Matthews and wife Patricia of Denver, Colo. and Joe Matthews of Moab, UT; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

The funeral service was held Tuesday, July 6, at Morton Chapel in Linn with Fr. William Debo officiating.
