State Technical College held its Show-Me State Tech open house on Saturday at its Linn campus so prospective students could meet instructors and tour the school.
Facilities were hubs of activity as families interacted with staff and asked questions about courses and the local area. Tours were given of the campus and current students were on hand to help answer questions.
The day was full of events, prizes, and giveaways for the hundreds of families from across the state that participated.
One event, in particular, has turned into a favorite for faculty and was talked about throughout the day: the tire burnout contest.
The burnout was held throughout the day with various vehicles participating and students of the Automotive Collision Technology program assisting in setting up safety measures for drivers and the audience.
