State Tech’s annual PowerUp and Marketplace event held Monday on the Osage County Community Center patio drew more than 1,000 incoming students, with 25 local businesses, churches, and organizations offering samples, free items, or chances to win prizes, along with information about their organization or business. A concert featuring Jordan Heckemeyer and City Limits was held during the event as students visited with vendors, played cornhole and table tennis, and hung out. Classes started on Tuesday.
