Terry Neuner

Terry Eugene Neuner, 75, Westphalia, passed away Nov. 23, 2022. 

He was born Nov.9, 1947, to Fred Neuner and Betty McDaniel Neuner Tilson in Jefferson City.

He was united in marriage to Mary Hilkemeyer Dec. 30, 1967, at St. Joseph Church in Westphalia.

Terry was a graduate of Linn High School, Lincoln University and University of Missouri Columbia, where he received his Masters of Science in Biochemistry.  He also studied at Harvard and Columbia University during summers during the 1960s. 

Terry served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Terry’s working career began on his father’s farm outside of Linn then to Meadow Gold Dairy and to 3M in global marketing.  After retiring from 3M, he returned to farming, raising the prized Kobe beef at his farm near Westphalia where he also established Westphalia Winery and Vineyards and was co-owner of Westphalia Inn. 

Terry is survived by wife Mary; mother, Betty Tilson of Columbia;  children, Eric Neuner and wife Araceli of San Diego, Calif., Paul Neuner and wife Irene of Louisville, Ky. and Christina Narendra and husband Andy of Bali, Indonesia; siblings, Steven Neuner of Dallas, Texas and Rick Neuner of Columbia; and 11 grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial was held Nov. 26, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia with Fr. Dylan Schrader officiating. Interment followed in the St. Joseph Parish Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions suggested to Westphalia Historical Society and St. Joseph Church in Westphalia.
