The fight against Judeo-Christian values

Posted

Some believe there are no significant differences between the two major political parties in the United States. They are mistaken.

There are five main differences in what the left stands for compared to the right. The Liberal Democrat Party stands for godlessness, authoritarianism, big government and the welfare state, handouts and victimhood, and finally, socialism (leading to communism).

Conservative Republicans, on the other hand, espouse Judeo-Christian values, liberty, limited government with independence, self-reliance and personal responsibility, and free market capitalism.

As we are in the midst of the Christmas season, I would like to focus on the first of the five differences — the Democrat Party’s move to rabid secularism that seeks to banish God.

Ryan Claassen, a political scientist at Kent State University and the author of “Godless Democrats and Pious Republicans?” calls this difference between the two parties the “God Gap.”

The Democrat Party was not always hostile to religion. It began during the cultural upheavals of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Since then, the Democrat Party has supported the removal of prayer in school and Christian symbols from public property, including crosses, the Ten Commandments and nativity scenes during Christmas.

In 2001 President George W. Bush brought before congress his faith-based charity initiative. Only one Catholic House Democrat voted in favor.

In 2008 Democrats removed the mention of God from their party platform.

Democrat institutions are at the center of the movement to remove Christ from Christmas. As far back as 2012, residents at a senior citizen’s apartment complex in California were told they couldn’t have Christmas trees because it was a religious symbol.

In 2015 House Democrats voted against keeping “God” in the Pledge of Allegiance.

In 2018 a bill in the Minnesota Senate to allow schools to voluntarily display the national motto “In God We Trust” was protested by Democrats. Minnesota Democrat Sen. John Marty said, “The money in my wallet has to say ‘In God We Trust.’ I think that’s offensive.”

In 2019 Democrats removed “so help me God” from the U.S. House of Representatives oath witnesses must take when testifying before several congressional committees. Also, in 2019 the Democrat National Committee (DNC) unanimously passed a resolution that declared Christianity was not necessary for morality or patriotism. It also affirmed atheism. In essence, the DNC kicked God out of their party. Sounds like Communism to me.

President James Madison, and chief architect of the U.S. Constitution, would disagree. He said, “The belief in a God All Powerful, wise and good, is so essential to the moral order of the world and to the happiness of man.”

Hollywood, which the Progressive Left controls, constantly portrays Christian characters negatively on the big screen.

Another aspect of society that Progressives control is academia. Here again, the bias against Christians is real. In 2019, The University of Iowa attempted to “de-recognize” a Christian group of students for pledging allegiance to their faith.

It looks like the Progressive Left is also trying to control our public libraries. Last week Kirk Cameron, author of a children’s book celebrating family, faith and biblical wisdom, was denied the ability to do a reading from over 50 public libraries. He was informed that his “messaging does not align” with their communities. According to a story on FoxNews.com, “Many of the same libraries that won’t give Cameron a slot, however, are actively offering ‘drag queen’ story hours or similar programs for kids and young people.”

Pay attention: There will be more stories in the coming weeks of Progressive Democrats attempting to cancel Christ from Christmas.

The United States is a nation founded on Judeo-Christian principles and values. Those principles of morality and faith have kept us strong.

Communism — what the Democrat Party eventually wants — prohibits God and religion.

A Pew Research Center’s 2014 study found that almost three-quarters of Democrat voters consider themselves either highly religious or somewhat religious. This includes Democrat voters in rural Missouri. Why would anyone support an ideology that wants to cancel their faith?
