Trump is much more than a showman

Donald Trump won a smashing victory last month. As overwhelming as that victory was, if the election were next Tuesday, I believe Trump’s margin of victory would be even greater.

Since election day, Trump has made many brilliant moves and has truly caught the fancy of the public. His formability rating with voters has soared, standing at 55 percent according to some surveys, something no one would have dreamed possible several years ago, or even earlier this year. Who would have thought many athletes would be doing the Trump dance?

So, what’s going on? I think people are starting to realize Trump is much more than a showman, that he’s the real deal. For the past several weeks Van Jones, a CNN commentator and former Obama adviser, has been paying Trump more and more compliments.

This week, Jones was speaking to former CNN reporter Chris Cillizza on Cillizza’s YouTube channel, and made an incredible statement about Trump. Jones told Cillizza, “Donald Trump is not an idiot. Let me just be very clear. Donald Trump is smarter than me, you and all of his critics. You know how I know? Because he has the White House, the Senate, the House, the Supreme Court, the popular vote.”

Jones didn’t stop there. “He has a massive media ecosystem bigger than the mainstream built around him, and for him, and a religious fervor in a political movement around him,” Jones added. “And his best buddy is the richest person in the history of the world, and the most relevant Kennedy is with him.”

Jones then listed some of those Democrats who felt forced to throw in with Trump. “RFK was a rebel inside our party, he wanted to run against Joe Biden fair and square, the DNC wouldn’t let him, pushed him out. You can walk down the list. Don’t forget Elon Musk was an Andrew Yang Democrat four years ago, he’s out. You can walk down the list. Joe Rogan was very favorable toward Michelle Obama, he was a Bernie guy, he’s out. So there’s something that’s happened in this party where the rebels in this party no longer feel like they have a place, and we’ve got to be able to talk about that stuff honestly.”

Whenever the next election is held, Democrats will also be plagued by the fact they have not learned from their mistakes. Three issues helped propel Trump into the White House: the open border, male athletes playing women’s sports and inflation. Just like most leading Democrats have failed to realize that Trump is the real deal, they have also failed to realize these issues are a big deal to the people.
