Valentine’s Day was not especially romantic for Michael A. Linker Jr., 43, of Argyle, who has been charged with second-degree domestic assault following the beating of his romantic partner, who was not identified by the Osage County Sheriff’s Office, as an argument escalated into a scary situation for the woman involved.

According to the probable cause statement filed by Deputy Dennis Sutton, Linker was agitated and vacuuming the floor when he arrived on the scene at 1:20 p.m.There was blood on his hands.

Linker said he had used methamphetamines seven days prior to the incident but was not at that time under the influence of the drug, and the fight did not involve meth.

According to Deputy Sutton, who joined Maries County Deputy Lt. Scott John at the scene, the argument began when Linker asked the victim to complete a college financial aid form (FAFSA) for him. She reportedly left the room instead, and when she came back, Linker grabbed her, but she pushed him away and made her way to the bathroom.

Linker followed her, and began choking her. The victim stated she lost consciousness, and feared Linker was going to kill her.

When she regained consciousness, the victim said she was being pushed into the bathtub, as Linker used his foot to stomp on her stomach.

In his PC statement, Dep. Sutton noted that Linker told the victim to calm down or he was going to choke her again. She tried to escape the residence through a bedroom window, but the victim said Linker went outside and pushed the window inward to prevent her exit.

According to the victim, Linker then came through the window and tackled her, then began choking her again. She lost consciousness a second time, and when she came to, the victim said Linker struck her in the mouth, knocking out a tooth.

The victim was able to get away and escape the residence, yelling for help as Linker followed, telling her to calm down once more.

While interviewing the victim, Dep. Sutton said she had what appeared to be blood stains on her shirt, she was missing a tooth, and there was a red flush to both cheeks. She was distraught and in fear for her safety.

Linker is being held on a $15,000 bond.
