Viola Lucille Wieberg, 75, Freeburg, passed away Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020, in StoneBridge Westphalia.

She was born Aug. 12, 1945, to Henry Anton and Katherine Elizabeth (Linnenbrink) Schulte in Freeburg.

She was united in marriage to Joseph Frank “Joe” Wieberg, June 6, 1964, in Freeburg and to this union, five children were born.

Viola was employed by Quaker Window Products Company in Freeburg for 27 years followed by 21 years at Scholastic, Inc. in Jefferson City prior to her retirement in 2010. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Freeburg. Viola enjoyed gardening, baking, fishing, the game of Yahtzee, watching Cardinal baseball, going to the boat, and babysitting part time.

She was preceded in death by parents, Henry and Katie; husband, Joe; sister, Dorothy Viessman; brother, Eugene Schulte; four brothers-in-law, Paul Stratman, Donald Viessman, Ed Schulte and Francis Koerber; and pet dog, “Sassy”.

Viola is survived by children, Kevin Wieberg and Leslie Wieberg, both of Freeburg, Laurie Steinman and husband Andy of Forest, Va., Chris Wieberg and wife Bonnie of Koeltztown, and Ashley Walker and husband Eric of Jefferson City; sisters, Mary Jane Schulte and Bernice Stratman, both of Jefferson City and Florentine Koerber of St. Louis; sister-in-law, Georgia Schulte of St. Louis; nine granddaughters; nephews; nieces; with greats as well; and many other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian burial was held at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 12, in the Holy Family Catholic Church in Freeburg with the Rev. William D. Debo officiating. Interment was next to beloved husband, Joe, of almost 53 years in the Holy Family Cemetery in Freeburg.

Memorial contributions suggested to the Holy Family School.

Arrangements entrusted to Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Vienna. Pallbearers for Viola were Paul Schulte, Mark Schulte, Greg Viessman, Mike Viessman, Kenneth Koerber, Eddie Schulte, Paul Stratman, Jason Stratman, Kevin Moore, and Patrick Storey.
