Wanda Buechter

Wanda Louise Buechter, 68, Jefferson City, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Capitol Region Medical Center.

She was born May 30, 1953, to the late Louis and Bernadine (Gentges) Voss.

She was united in marriage to Charles Buechter Oct. 22, 1983 in Linn.

Wanda was a 1971 graduate of Linn High School. She worked as a dietary technician for various care centers in the local area. Wanda was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and previously active with the Ladies Sodality. She enjoyed helping others and volunteered with many organizations including the Samaritan Center and Concord Baptist Church. Wanda liked completing word search puzzles, painting and spending time with friends during their monthly birthday celebrations. Most of all, she cherished looking back at family history in photos and spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews.

Wanda was preceded in death by parents, Louis and Bernadine; brother, David Voss; brother-in-law, John Buechter; sisters-in-law, Pam Buechter and Cecilia Prenger; and nephew, Jason Buechter.

She is survived by loving husband of 37 years, Charles; brother, Gerald Voss and wife Margie; in-laws, Agnes Voss, Anthony Buechter and wife Marla, Sharon Buechter, Ambrose Buechter and friend Cindy Renick, August Buechter and wife Patricia; and eight nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial was held Monday, July 5, at St. Peter Catholic Church in the Selinger Center with Fr. Paschal C. Ihediohamma officiating. Interment was at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens with Deacon Larry Hildebrand officiating.

Memorial contributions suggested to the American Cancer Society.
