Willis gets nine years in DOC on child pornography charges

The Vienna Police Department reported receiving a conviction on a case the department has worked on for three years.

Police Chief Shannon Thompson said Joshua K. Willis, 40, Dixon,  recently was found guilty of two felony counts of possession of child pornography and was sentenced by Circuit Judge William Hickle to serve nine years in the DOC on each count, with the sentences to be served concurrently. The case was moved to Phelps County on a change of venue.

Chief Thompson said this conviction came after a three-years long forensic investigation conducted by Vienna PD and the Missouri State Technical Assistance Team, a criminal investigative division of Missouri Children’s Division.

Maries County Prosecuting Attorney Tony Skouby provided extensive support to the investigators through the issuance of investigative subpoenas, search warrant applications, and eventually presenting witnesses from within and from outside of the state at the sentencing hearing held for Willis.
