WESTPHALIA — Elizabeth Feltrop, 44, is seeking a seat on the Fatima R-3 School Board in the April 7 election, emphasizing fiscal responsibility and support for district leadership.
“I decided to seek election because I currently have kids in school and feel I can use my background to help support the current administration,” Feltrop said.
A lifelong Osage County resident and Fatima graduate, Feltrop lives near Westphalia with her husband, Adam, and their two daughters, who attend Fatima schools.
She holds a degree in accounting and is a licensed CPA, with professional experience in tax, government, banking, and private business operations.
Feltrop pointed to strong community ties as a defining strength of the district.
“Many families have several generations who graduated from Fatima, with their photos still hanging in the hallways today” she said. “That creates a stronger connection between the school and the community.”
She identified facility transitions and long-term planning as key issues.
“I feel transitioning the current facility to appropriately support all K-12 needs is an important area to focus on,” Feltrop said.
Her priorities include teacher recruitment and retention, along with strategic, data-driven budgeting. “If elected I would work with the board members and the administration to prioritize any needs into short-term and long-term goals, make sure alternatives are considered, and then use everyone’s background and experience to finalize a plan,” said Feltrop. “I believe teacher recruitment and retention should always be a priority.”
Feltrop said her goal is to ensure that the school district is meeting the needs of all its students and operating in a fiscally responsible manner.
