LINN — According to a probable cause statement filed by Deputy Linneman with the Osage County Sheriff’s Office, he was contacted by Osage County Emergency Operations regarding a theft at a protected address within Osage County. Upon arrival, he reviewed surveillance footage from the location.
The report states the video shows a man identified as Carl Baker looking at Milwaukee brand items inside the store. While reviewing the footage, the deputy observed Baker allegedly remove an impact drill from a shelf, step around a corner and break the band wrapped around the item. The statement indicates he removed the tool from its packaging and placed it under his coat.
According to the report, Baker then returned to the shelf, took a second impact drill and concealed it under his jacket. The statement says he exited the store, entered a white Ford Explorer and turned east onto Hwy. 50.
Items listed in the probable cause statement include a Milwaukee M12 ¼-inch impact kit valued at $299.99 and a Milwaukee M12 ¼-inch stub impact valued at $179.99. The charge cited is stealing for knowingly taking the items without consent from a protected address.
The Osage County Sheriff’s Office continues to search for the individual in connection with the investigation. Sheriff Mike Bonham added that information about an unidentified second person of interest who may or may not have been involved is also requested. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the sheriff’s office.
