ROLLA — Samuel L. Hudson, 37, of Bonnots Mill, entered an Alford Plea in Phelps County on Monday to charges of sexual misconduct with a child, and was sentenced to four years in the Missouri Department of Corrections, suspended, with five years probation.

Under the Alford Plea, Hudson pleaded guilty but maintained his innocence of the two charges of sexual misconduct involving a child under 15 (first offense) against him.

Hudson was charged on April 24, 2024, on a felony Phelps County warrant alleging three counts of deviate sexual sodomy against a male victim less than 14 years of age. A three-count grand jury indictment cited incidents that allegedly occurred between May 15, 2022, and Aug. 31, 2023, in Phelps County.

Hudson waived arraignment and entered a plea of not guilty.

In addition to probation, Judge John D. Beger ordered Hudson to register with Missouri Sex Offender Registration.

Hudson resigned from his position as State Tech’s Chief Information Officer, effective immediately.
