Katherine L. Gelven, 94, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2024, at Stonebridge of Owensville.
She was born Nov. 27, 1929, to the late William and Hannah (Bogle) Buscher in Freedom.
She was united in marriage to Wilbert Gelven Dec. 2, 1950, in Linn.
Katherine worked at both the International and Brown Shoe companies.
She was preceded in death by husband, Wilbert; son, Danny Gelven; and siblings, John, Oscar, Everette, Aimee, Silas, Syrene, Josephine, Ben and Clarence.
Katherine is survived by sons, G.W. Gelven and wife Donna of Kansas City and Robert Gelven and wife Stacey of Ada, Mich.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister, Veneda Brautigam of Washington.
Visitation will be held from 9 until 11 a.m., (today) Wednesday, May 15 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the St. Alexander Catholic with Fr. Phillip Cain officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens near Bland.
Memorial contributions suggested to Mercy Hospice.
