Linn hosted Harrisburg on Friday for Courtwarming, and despite a great effort, the Lady Cats lost 67-39.
Facing a 34-20 deficit at the break, the game slipped further away in the third, but the Lady Cats battled until the final horn. They shot 38.2% overall from the floor, finishing with four three-pointers and a 9-20 mark at the FT line.
Linn won the second-chance points battle, 8-1, and out-rebounded the Lady Bulldogs, 27-18.
On the night, Carley Brandt scored 15 and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Lady Cats in both categories. Kenzy Hackmann added eight points, including two three-pointers and a 2-2 mark at the line, as Paige Senevey and Nicole Grellner (trey) scored five apiece, and Jorja Kempker (trey) and Heslie Higginbotham finished with three each. Grellner’s three assists paced the team as Kempker, Russell, and Higginbotham counted two apiece.
Senevey and Higgs posted four rebounds apiece, Hackmann added three, and Grellner and Kempker posted two each.
Defensively, Higginbotham had two steals, and Kempker, Russell, Senevey, and Brandt finished with one apiece.
