Linn traveled to Harrisburg on Monday and returned with a 7-2 victory to complete four straight wins.
In the top of the third, Linn struck first with a single run. Kenzy Hackmann reached second on two errors with one out to get the ball rolling, so to speak. Sophie Voss (3-4, RBI) added a single to put runners on the corners for Elli Dudenhoeffer (1-3, 2 RBI), whose sacrifice fly plated Hackmann.
In the top of the fifth, Linn scored three runs on four hits and a walk. Heslie Higginbotham (1-3) hit a one-out double, and Hackmann joined her on the bases with a walk. Voss struck again, this time with an RBI single to center field to drive in Higgs. Dudenhoeffer followed with another single to score Hackmann, who had moved to third on the previous play. The final run came on an Ava Warren (1-4, RBI) single to right.
Leading 4-2 in the seventh, Linn added three insurance runs. Dudenhoeffer (walk), Emma Starke (walk), Warren (ROE), and Paige Senevey (single, 2-4, 2 RBI) made their way around bases for the go-ahead runs.
Voss notched the win after a complete game. She allowed no earned runs on seven hits, with eight strikeouts and no walks.
On Friday, the Lady Wildcats defeated New Bloomfield, 5-4 in eight.
Hackmann’s two-out double in the bottom of the eighth drove in Elizabeth Sprenger, who had doubled with one out to set the stage.
Hackmann and Voss each had two hits to lead the team, as Starke (double, 2 RBI), Warren (RBI), Dudenhoeffer, and Senevey each added a hit.
Voss allowed four runs on six hits, with five strikeouts and four walks over eight innings.
On Thursday, Vienna made a game of it in the top of the seventh, scoring five runs to pull within two, but the Lady Cats held on for a 7-5 win.
Linn scored a run in the second and two more in the third for a 3-0 lead. In the fourth, Sprenger walked, and Hackmann (2-4, 2 RBI) singled two batters later. Both scored when Voss (1-3, RBI) doubled to right field.
With a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the sixth, Hackmann smashed the ball to left field for a two-run HR to lift Linn to 7-0 going into the final half-inning.
Vienna used a walk and two hits to plate two, and then a three-run round-tripper cut the lead to two, but Warren got out of the jam to end the game.
Senevey added an RBI single to the mix.
From the circle, Warren’s complete game ended with five strikeouts and a walk, as she allowed five earned runs on eight hits.
Linn began last week with a 10-0 win over Fayette in five innings on Wednesday.
Higginbotham delivered a three-run HR as Anna Peters posted two doubles, and Dudenhoeffer (double, 2 RBI), Starke (2 RBI), Voss (RBI), Sprenger (RBI), Hackmann, and Warren each added a hit.
Voss struck out 10 and walked none in a five-inning win. She held Fayette scoreless on three hits.
