Linn’s junior high track and field teams competed at the Central State 8 Conference meet hosted by New Bloomfield, with several top finishes.
The girls 3200m relay team of Allyson Entz, Amelia Brandt, Kenni Kramer, and Lily Baker earned All-Conference honors with a second-place finish in 11:49.73. Ava Winkelman added an All-Conference performance with a second-place finish in the triple jump at 9.24m.
Third-place finishes came from the boys 3200m relay team of Landon Engelhardt, Colton Rachatellelle, Trenton Vogler, and Ethan Grafe, while Kenni Kramer was third in the 1600m run in 6:14.82.
Brandt added fourth-place finishes in the 800m run and 1600m run, while Ben Swann was fourth in the triple jump. The girls 400m relay team of Norah Caldwell, Kendall Niederhelm, Morgan Sutton, and Winkelman placed fourth.
On a day highlighted by All-Conference performances, there was also a strong wave of personal records.
Coach Aleshia Entz said the meet reflected both growth and effort across the roster as the Wildcats produced 13 PRs: the 4x100m team of Caldwell, Niederhelm, Sutton, and Winkelman; Sutton in the 200m; Daphne Baker and Luke Scheulen in the 400m; Brandt in the 1600m; hurdlers Swann, Keeley Entz, and Kirra Deatsch; Emily Greer and Harper Entz in the shot put; and Rachatellelle and Annabel Morfeld in the discus.
“Congrats to these up-and-coming athletes,” Coach Entz added.
