Yes on Amendment 8 - Moves Sheriff duties from statute to constitution

Restores constitutional sheriff (currently in statutes)

Sheriff is based on Wild West Marshalls.

Removes ability for legislators to remove the office of sheriff. (That was tried a few years ago)

Reduces ability for citizens to use revenge to try to remove a sheriff. The Missouri State Attorney General must initiate a legal action to remove a sheriff.

The proper role of government is to protect your liberty, your rights and your assets. Remember that when you vote. Against this test, Amendments 3, 6 and 7 fail.

No on Amendment 7 - Poor choice of how to fund government 100 years in future

Would create an endowment fund for the interest to fund the state government 100-150 years in the future. The funding source is unknown and vague. It’s a bad policy. Endowments are useful for many charities but are not a good way to fund state government.

No on Amendment 6 - Undermines the concept of a representative republic

Changes the rules for citizen initiative petition constitutional changes. Keeps the 50% +1 vote to pass. Adds 80% vote to change. Mistakes will become permanent law that will be nearly impossible to change. Empowers special interests and billionaires to buy new laws that can’t be changed. Not a left vs right issue. It is Equally dangerous

No on Amendment 3

It does not protect unborn children. The bill is a combination of permission to kill and a list of people excluded from constitutional protections — that is unprecedented.”

A3 is the most controversial amendment. It does not ban abortion. It has two subjects and should have been two separate bills. A yes vote means you want to create a new law that authorizes killing babies. A no vote means you do not want to create a new law that will kill babies and you do want a better law to vote on next year that is truly pro life.

No on Prop A

No vote keeps the 2022 Congressional District Map until next census

Would make the 2025 congressional map the designated map for the 2028 election cycle.

This attempted new policy created confusion and chaos. It did not accomplish the goal and sets a bad precedent. The census is constitutionally mandated every 10 years. CD Districts are designed based on that count. Trying to change the CD map in between the census counts is bad policy undermining voters’ confidence in our republic.

Each ballot measure has a longer article explaining it. We encourage you to research each issue before voting. This guide is intended to inspire a conversation about the issue.
