LOOSE CREEK — The Osage County Agritourism Council is proud to sponsor its first annual Farm Expo on March 28 at the Loose Creek Community Center, 173 County Road 403, Bonnots Mill, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This family-friendly event is free to attend.
Approximately 30 vendors will represent a wide variety of farming services available in Osage County. The goal is to highlight all things agriculture-related, from tractors and feed supply to drones, livestock producers, and processing plants.
Demonstrations will take place throughout the day. Nathan Troesser will showcase his drones, which are used to fertilize crops and map crop growth. Leo Massman will present a PowerPoint on tree identification.
A Kids’ Corner will offer hands-on activities, including an opportunity to experience milking a cow with the Missouri Farm Bureau. Coloring books and a butterfly project will be provided by Quail Forever.
A raffle will feature prizes including a quilt, a basket of Osage County goods, and $50 donated by Freeburg MFA.
Food will be available all day from OK Catering, with breakfast and lunch options, including biscuits and gravy, cinnamon rolls, chili dogs, chili, pork burgers, and more.
Osage County is home to more than 1,000 farms and ranks among the top five counties in Missouri for the number of Century Farms. The Osage County Historical Society will have a display featuring several of these farms. Susan Sundermeyer will also present a display highlighting Chamois and Morrison River Bottom farms.
There is something for everyone. Come out and support local farmers — your friends and neighbors — at the Farm Expo.
