Osage County Fair to have carnival rides again this year

LINN — After having no carnival rides at the Linn Lions Club Osage County Fair in 2021 and 2023, the fair board is pleased to announce that Show Me Amusements will provide rides again this year. In addition, the company offers a games alley and food stand.

The carnival will be open from 6 until 10 p.m. on Thursday through Saturday, July 11-13. Armbands will cost $25, with no pre-sales.

There will be several new fair events this year, including a wine garden and a cornhole tournament. Registration for the cornhole tournament is $20, with a payout to the top three teams.

The Lions Club is adding pulled pork to their list of food offerings. 4H will also provide food, and the fair board is in the process of confirming additional vendors to increase the variety of culinary offerings.

Thursday night’s music will be by Osage Angels, Friday night will be Cassie Twehus, and Saturday will feature Osage Drifters from 7 to 8:30 p.m., followed by Better Than Bad from 9 p.m. until midnight. For those who would rather sing, there will be karaoke on Saturday night.

“We want to have a lot of good entertainment lined up this year,” said Fair Board President Cyndi Summers.
