Patrick Kyle “Crotch” Massman, 51, Westphalia, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 10, 1972, to the late Joseph Bernard and Dora Marie (Johannesmeyer) Massman in Jefferson City.

He was a 1990 graduate of Fatima High School in Westphalia.

Crotch was united in marriage to Suzanne Marie Mantle Oct. 5, 1996 in Bonnots Mill.

During high school he worked for Sestak Feed Store, Westphalia Milling Company. and then spent over 25 years as a driver for Bruemmer Trucking.

Crotch was a devout member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and an active participant with the Lions Club where he was the bartender after monthly meetings in Westphalia. 

He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, cherishing moments spent with his wife and daughters and faithful companion Daisy.  Whether it was adventuring to the Massman Family Farm in St. Elizabeth, navigating the waters while canoeing or kayaking with friends on the Maries River, or partaking in annual traditions like camping trips and Massman slip n’ slide, Crotch’s zest for life was evident in every moment he shared with others.

Known for his expertise in building campfires, grilling delicious meals and hosting memorable pool parties, his presence always lit up any gathering. Crotch cherished his time embarking on Gator rides with Daisy, venturing into nature for deer hunting excursions, partaking in jeep rides through Osage County and relishing the camaraderie at deer and turkey camp outings.  He was always up for a good time!

Crotch was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Dora;  brother, Carl “Muscles” Massman; sister-in-law, Judy Massman; brother-in-law, Marty “Putter” Wieberg; and father-in-law, James Mantle.

He is survived by wife, Suzanne of Westphalia; daughters, JoDee Massman and friend Tony Bock of Rich Fountain and AnnaBelle Massman and friend Jaidyn Vaughan of Westphalia; siblings, William “Bill” Massman and wife Mary Jane, James “Sadie” Massman and wife Darlene, Daniel “Raaa” Massman, Susan “Sue” Wieberg,  Douglas “Slug” Massman and wife Linda, Donna “Feenie”Weber and husband Jerry, Samuel “Pete” Massman and wife Jane, Chris “Pissy” Massman and wife Tammy and Nicholas “Alb” Massman; sister-in-law, Denise Massman, all located within five miles of home in Westphalia; mother-in-law, Rita Mantle of Bonnots Mill; and a host of other extended family members.

Visitation will be held from 3 until 6 p.m., Sunday, June 2, at Trimble Funeral Homes in Westphalia.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, June 3, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia with the Rev. Dylan Schrader officiating.

Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
