OSAGE COUNTY — The Osage County Sheriff’s Office received official word March 27 from the Missouri Department of Public Safety that it has earned the Missouri Blue Shield designation for 2026, marking its second consecutive year receiving the recognition.
The honor recognizes communities across Missouri that are committed to enhancing public safety through investment in and support of law enforcement, as well as strong partnerships between law enforcement and the citizens they serve.
Officials said the achievement would not be possible without the continued support of the Osage County Commission and county residents, whose trust and cooperation make public safety efforts possible each day.
The Missouri Blue Shield Program, created in January 2025, highlights the importance of collaboration in reducing crime and strengthening relationships between law enforcement and the community. Communities that received the designation in 2025 were required to reapply this year.
The Osage County Sheriff’s Office said it will continue working to keep the community safe.
