It may surprise you to learn that President Donald Trump and all Republicans are for gun control. They are also for gun confiscation. With one caveat. Gun control and confiscation for felons and illegal immigrants.
It has now been one year since Trump signed an order sending Federal law enforcement and the National Guard into Memphis, Tenn., to combat crime.
The citizens of this Democrat controlled city were enduring the failure of soft-on-crime policies. FBI data in 2024 showed Memphis had the highest violent-crime rate in the country.
Democrats in the media and in Congress screamed like a stuck pig. But because Tennessee Governor Bill Lee is Republican, that’s all they could do.
The Memphis Safe Task Force (MSTF), in the last year, made over 12,000 arrests, according to White House spokesperson Lauren Bis. That is over 32 per day.
Arrested were murderers, sex offenders, drug traffickers and other violent criminals. Over 2,100 illegal firearms were seized. This is gun control that Republicans support.
Fox News Digital said that, “The operation has led to a 36 percent decrease in overall crime year over year, with motor vehicle thefts down 57 percent, robberies down 43 percent, aggravated assaults down 27 percent, murders were down 44 percent in the first half of 2026 and is now at 35 percent.”
Memphis’ success in lowering crime rates mirrors the Trump administration’s results in lowering crime in our nation’s capital.
It’s logical. Crime can be lowered, criminals arrested, dangerous guns taken off our streets, and, most importantly, lives saved when tough-on-crime Republicans are in control.
On the opposite end of the spectrum is the Democratic Socialists of America — the surging wing of the Democrat Party — that openly advocates for the abolishment of prisons and defunding police.
The DSA wants to gradually reduce police budgets to zero, end criminalization and provide freedom for anyone incarcerated. If you don’t believe me visit www.dsausa.org and read it for yourself in their own words.
The DSA is also against the Second Amendment. According to a Pew Report from July entitled “The Terrifying Reality Behind DSA’s Stance on Guns,” the DSA frames “private gun ownership as a relic of toxic individualism.” They don’t want to just control semi-automatic rifles. They think no one has a right to own any firearm. The DSA’s website says “The Second Amendment is a threat to us all.”
If America puts Democrats in power in November, the DSA will look at this as an endorsement of their policies. How does that make you feel?

In other good news, Vice President JD Vance was in Kansas City last week, where he announced that 870,000 suspected fraudsters are going to be barred from Federal loans.
“If you screwed the American taxpayer, the Federal Government is now going to say you are cut off, no more; you shouldn’t be applying any more,” said Vance.
A week hardly goes by without the Federal Government announcing it is arresting or going after another group who have been stealing billions from American taxpayers.
Instead of arresting fraudsters, Joe Biden pardoned them. On Dec. 17, 2024 Biden pardoned more than 1,500 people. The pardons included Rita Crundwell, who was convicted and sentenced to nearly 20 years in prison for stealing almost $54 million from Dixon, Ill. Also pardoned was Paul M, Daugerdas. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison for his role in a multi billion-dollar tax fraud scheme.
Just one more difference between Republicans and Democrats.
Good news ignored by the liberal media: two records announced last week by the U.S. Census Bureau. Under the Trump Administration, in 2025, the poverty rate in the United States dropped to an all-time low of 10.2 percent, and median household income, at $87,460 in 2025, also set a new record.
The drop in the poverty rate means around 1.5 million people in the United States are no longer considered in poverty. Children living in poverty also reached a new historic low.
Nine months ago, Democrat leaders bashed Trump as ‘completely unhinged’ with his threats to Greenland. Trump’s strategy worked again as he announced last week a new pact with Greenland. One security expert hailed it as on par with the purchase of Alaska.
Never underestimate Trump.
