MARIES COUNTY — A Vienna woman sustained serious injuries and a 16-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash early Sept. 22 in Maries County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 1:40 a.m. on County Road 302, about one-half mile east of Highway 63.
The patrol reported that a 20-year-old Vienna woman was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Impala eastbound when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and overturned.
The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, sustained serious injuries. A 16-year-old female passenger from Vienna, who was wearing a seat belt, sustained minor injuries. Both were transported by ambulance to Phelps Health.
The Impala was totaled and removed from the scene by Owens Towing.
The crash was investigated by Cpl. J.T. Peart of Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop I. The Maries County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene.
