Minneapolis death

Posted

Dear Editor:

Thousands across the country this past weekend protested the “killing” of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis.  Senseless death; yes.  Avoidable, no; for Renee, like Michael Brown and George Floyd before her, was just another flawed Leftist poster child who I guess imagined she was doing the right thing, but was clearly in conflict with the law.

Good certainly had the right to demonstrate, but she wasn’t demonstrating. She was willingly disrupting a federal law enforcement operation.  She was given an opportunity to extricate herself and failed to comply. Had she followed the directive given to her, she would, most likely, be alive today.

Do I regret that she is dead; absolutely. But I also regret the deaths and injuries to countless victims of crimes committed by illegal aliens every year, along with the fraud and abuse that has recently been discovered by significant numbers in migrant communities. Shootings, stabbings, rapes, thefts, vehicular homicides, even immolation, by illegal immigrants, have become all too commonplace. But this is the “mess” that is left to be cleaned up when administration after administration turns a blind eye to the sheer numbers of unvetted coming into America from every corner of the World; some administrations even flying them in. The mess is made exponentially worse because the inaction by previous administrations to enforce the law sends the mixed signal that it’s okay to selectively enforce laws; that we can pick and choose what to enforce and what to ignore.

So, spare me the tears for ICEWATCH member (not the PTA) Renee Good. With two teens already removed from her custody, the TDS-burdened mother was sending her six-year-old kindergartener to the Southside Family Charter School where the mission is to meet “the needs of a culturally and ethnically diverse population by engaging children in critical thinking and problem solving, involving children in political and social activism, encouraging creative expression.” So, while Good was blocking ICE, they were in hot pursuit of Mahad Abdulkadir Yusuf, convicted of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree (forced his victim to perform oral sex on him multiple times), assault in the first degree and obstructing the police.  Not the indiscriminate snatch and grab of anyone with brown skin or with an accent like those on the Left would have you believe.

No, I will save my tears for Laken Riley, the murdered, raped girl from Georgia who fought her illegal attacker for 17 minutes. Did anyone march for her this weekend or say her name in prayer? I think not.
