Argyle trustees contract with River Line Solutions for maintenance services

ARGYLE — Argyle trustees approved a new sewer maintenance contract with River Line Solutions for $1,000 per month at their meeting on Thursday, Feb. 26. The village had used Mid Mo Operations for the past several years at a rate of $1,500 per month. River Line Solutions owner Curtis Wheat was one of three Mid-Mo Operations owners who started their own company. Wheat attended an informal meeting in January to discuss the services that he offers. Trustees are happy with the lower cost and the way that Wheat has been communicating with them.

In other business, trustees agreed to eliminate the village’s phone line and internet. City Treasurer Kym Brunnert contacted both companies that handle the internet and phone services for the village to negotiate a new rate.

“They refused to offer us a good alternative,” Brunnert said.

Trustees noted that everyone contacts them personally when there are problems or concerns, so they saw no reason to continue paying for unnecessary services.

• In another cost-saving measure, Brunnert will look into alternatives for the village’s accounting program since QuickBooks is also increasing its price. Brunnert will try to negotiate a lower rate with the company and also look for alternatives. She will report back at the next meeting.

• February’s financial report included the following expenses: general ($3,098.65) and sewer ($3,778.64).

• The village had the following balances in its accounts: general ($20,789.29), general money market account ($59,452.63), sewer ($4,995.89), sewer money market account ($30,539.17), and sewer debt service ($31,945.81).

• The next meeting will be held on Thursday, March 19, at 7 p.m.
