LINN — State Technical College of Missouri will hold its commencement ceremonies for graduates of the health science programs at 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, and ceremonies at 9 a.m., noon, and 3 p.m. on Friday, May 15, for the 2026 graduating class. State Tech will graduate 896 students this year, with ceremonies to be held at the State Tech Klebba Activity Center.
Elizabeth Gordon, a 2023 graduate, will deliver the commencement address in the Health Sciences Ceremony. She earned an associate's degree in radiologic technology at State Tech and is double board-certified in radiography and computed tomography.
She has spent the past three years working at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where she is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality patient care. During her time in college, Gordon tutored and served as Vice President of Lambda Nu, demonstrating leadership and a strong commitment to the field. She was also recognized with a Vice President’s Citation for completing over 10 volunteer hours. Continuing her passion for service, she currently volunteers with Happy Helpers for the Homeless in Baltimore, Md. Outside of her professional life, Gordon enjoys baking, reading, exploring new walking trails, and attempting to learn the French language. Originally from Jefferson City, she values the close-knit community of friends and family who have supported her throughout her professional journey. Gordon is honored to be part of this year’s commencement and looks forward to continuing to grow both personally and professionally in the years ahead.
On Friday, 2014 graduate Tyler Gosney, who earned an associate’s degree from State Tech and a Bachelor of Science in Turfgrass Science from the University of Missouri, will speak to graduates.
He gained early experience through internships with the San Diego Padres, Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Phillies, and the Kansas City Chiefs, as well as with the University of Missouri Athletic Department. Gosney currently serves as the Assistant Head Turf Manager with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he is dedicated to excellence in field management.
During his time in college, Gosney was actively involved in student organizations, including competing on the CTG PAS team, participating in Phi Theta Kappa, and contributing to the Mizzou Turf Club through fundraising, seminars, and national competitions. He has remained engaged in the profession through long-standing involvement in the NFL Field Managers Association, supporting mentorship and industry development.
Gosney enjoys golfing with friends and working on projects at home. He and his wife, Kelby, recently celebrated one year of marriage and are active members of their local church.
Gosney is honored to serve as this year’s commencement speaker and looks forward to continuing to invest in the next generation of professionals.
