WESTPHALIA — One person was killed and two others were injured in a three-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon on U.S. 63 at CR 512 in Osage County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the crash occurred at 1:54 p.m. Aug. 8 when a northbound 2016 Chevrolet Silverado crossed the center line and struck a southbound 2017 Harley-Davidson motorcycle head-on. The Silverado, driven by a 54-year-old Boonville man, sustained extensive damage.

The motorcycle was driven by a 61-year-old Hartsburg man, who was not wearing a safety device. He was pronounced deceased at the scene at 3 p.m. by Osage County Coroner A.J. Probst and transported to Morton Chapel by Osage Ambulance.

A 50-year-old Hartsburg woman, who was a passenger on the motorcycle and was wearing a safety device, suffered serious injuries and was transported to University Hospital by ARCH Air.

Following the initial collision, the motorcycle traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned, ejecting the driver and passenger. Debris from the collision struck a southbound 2002 Harley-Davidson, causing it to overturn in the roadway.

The second motorcycle’s 64-year-old Jefferson City driver, who was wearing a safety device, suffered moderate injuries and was transported to University Hospital by Osage Ambulance.

The report states the Silverado came to rest in the roadway. All three vehicles were removed by towing services.

The crash was investigated by Cpl. B.R. Lange and Major Crash Investigation Unit Sgt. G.D. Ward, with assistance from Tpr. C.A. Fox, Tpr. M.T. McCoy, Cpl. D.H. Craft, and Cpl. A.J. O’Brien.

The patrol reported the crash was Troop F’s fourth fatality for August and 40th fatality of 2026.
