Area high school baseball fans looking for games later this week need not look any further than Linn High School and their 25th Annual Baseball Tournament.
Six teams will be split into two pools of three.
Pool 1 will consist of Belle, Dixon and Hermann while Pool 2 will comprise Eugene, Linn and Cuba.
Action in Pool 1 will begin Friday morning at 9 a.m., in a showdown of Highway 28 schools between Belle and Dixon followed at 11:30 a.m., with Hermann taking on Dixon.
Concluding Pool 1 action at 2 p.m., will be Belle playing Hermann.
Pool 2 games will begin at Vivion Field in Jefferson City with the host Wildcats taking on Eugene’s Eagles at 12:30 p.m.
Action will then move back to Linn later in the afternoon with Cuba taking on Eugene and 4:30 p.m., followed by a cat scratch fever match up with Linn facing Cuba at 7 p.m.
Hardware action will begin Saturday morning at 11 a.m., with the third-place teams from each pool playing for consolation honors followed at 1:30 p.m., with the third-place game between the second-place teams in each pool.
Tournament action will conclude with the championship games between the first-place teams from each pool at 4 p.m.
Throughout the tournament, there will be a 2.5 hour time limit.
Admission charges for the tournament will be $5 per person or $2 per students.
Those admitted free will include veterans, first responders and children Kindergarten age and below.
