Anna Marie Otto, 91, Jefferson City, passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 25, 2021, at Adams Street Senior Living Facility.

She was born Aug.16, 1930, to the late Elias and Mary Ann (Koerber) Zeilman in Rich Fountain.

She was united in marriage to Nelson Herman Otto, Sr. Oct. 12, 1948.

Anna was truly the heart and matriarch of her family. She was dedicated to taking care of them and making sure they had everything they needed. Anna cherished the time spent and memories made with her family.

She was a faithful attendee of Immaculate Conception Church. She had a very caring heart and shared her love for people by being a Partners Volunteer at Capital Region Medical Center and also a teacher’s aide at Sacred Heart in Rich Fountain.

Anna enjoyed playing cards, especially 10-point Pitch and Rummy. She was passionate about sharing her family history and enjoyed writing. Anna’s hardworking nature ensured that her family was taken care of in a time that household tasks weren’t always easy, and made sure to instill that principle in her children. Anna’s favorite holiday was Christmas and she never failed to decorate, bake and attend the midnight Mass. She will be remembered for her good sense of humor, sweet spirit, and her contagious laugh.

Anna was preceded in death by loving husband, Nelson; parents, Elias and Mary Ann; and brothers, Francis, Edwin and Anthony Zeilman.

She is survived by children, Marsha Meyer and husband Bob of Meta, Dale Otto and wife Diana of Jefferson City, Duane Otto of St. Thomas and Nelson Otto, Jr. of Jefferson City; brother, George Zeilman and wife Pat of California; grandchildren, Mike Meyer and wife Tiffanie, Jon Meyer and husband Mike, Michelle Derkum and husband Tony, Angel Backes and husband Brad, Danielle Stammer and husband Andrew, Dalenna Giles and husband John and Jessie Otto; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Interment will be next to her late husband at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
