Mark Musgrave, 58, and Elizabeth Musgrave, 33, of Chamois, have been charged with possession of a controlled substance following a search warrant Dec. 9 at their home.
During the search by members of the Mid Missouri Drug Task Force, a bag containing methamphetamine was found in the couple’s bedroom.
Both admitted to having used and sold meth in the past but told authorities they had stopped using around Halloween of this year. They admitted their bag of methamphetamine was theirs but said they thought it had been thrown out when they quit taking the drug.
Bond was set at $15,000 each.
Also during the search, officers found marijuana, which was given to Mark by Elizabeth’s father, Chris Froment, 55, who lives near the Musgraves.
As a result of this discovery, officers spoke with Froment, who admitted he gave the marijuana to Mark Musgrave since the latter had put him in contact with an individual who possessed a medical marijuana card. Froment told authorities that he had ridden with the individual and used his card to purchase marijuana.
A consent search of Froment’s home led to the discovery of marijuana, along with several pipes, a. Bong, and two grinders, all of which were seized.
Misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and paraphernalia are expected to be filed against Froment.
