CHAMOIS — Chamois High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Chapter officers attended the state FBLA fall leadership conference in Columbia on Oct. 12-13. Students participated in leadership workshops and team-building activities with about 350 other students from across the state.
Chamois High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Chapter officers were CHS Secretary Cheyenne Abrams, CHS President Rylee Davis, FBLA State Officer Madeline Gerloff, Middle-School Chapter President Grayson Gerloff, and CHS Vice President/Treasurer Evert Mehmert.
At the leadership conference, Madeline Gerloff, who serves as the State FBLA Parliamentarian, presented a workshop titled “All I Do Is Win” alongside State FBLA President Hayden Hradek of Republic High School and State FBLA Secretary Hannah Eckhardt of Spokane High School. Gerloff also shared a skills workshop with District 2 FBLA officers at their fall meeting at McClung Park in Jefferson City. Abrams, Davis, and Mehmert also attended the workshop.
Chamois also recently started a middle-school FBLA chapter. Eighth-grader Grayson Gerloff serves as president. Other members are eighth-graders Victor Slack, Raigen Cramer, and Brayden Cotton and seventh-graders Rex McKague, Dixee Powers, and Carly Schollmeyer.
FBLA members will host their annual Haunted House on Sunday, Oct. 29, from 6-8 p.m. in the school cafeteria. Admission is $5 per person. Funds raised will help students attend leadership conferences and participate in competitions.
FBLA will hold its annual community food drive in November to benefit the Good Shepherd Food Pantry in Linn. Bag drop-off will be on Saturday, Nov. 4, with bag pickup on Saturday, Nov. 11.
