CHAMOIS — Misty Loney, 44, of Chamois was taken into custody by Osage County deputies on June 19 for unlawful use of a weapon following an altercation with her neighbor. She has since been charged with second-degree assault.
Sheriff Mike Bonham explained that deputies arrived to investigate a report of shots fired. The victim told authorities that Loney had fired a shot, and another witness said they heard two shots.
Loney was transported to the Osage County Detention Center without incident.
After initially being held on a no-bond warrant, Loney’s bond was amended to $5,000 cash/surety, on the condition that she have no contact with alleged victim or possess a firearm of any kind.
Judge Sonya Brandt ordered that Loney may return to her summer employment, and if at all possible, she is not to stay at her current residence in Chamois. However, the court will not require Loney to move if she has no other place to go.
A case review will be held at 10 a.m. on July 11.
