LINN — St. George Principal Lisa Grellner announced this week that Bradley Deeken has been named the 2026 National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) Distinguished Graduate. This prestigious honor is given to those who have taken the values learned within these walls and used them to make a significant contribution to American life and the Catholic Church.
Deeken graduated from St. George in 2004. He continued his education at Linn R-2 and later at Mizzou, where he built the foundation for a remarkable career. Today, he serves as the Vice President of Commercial Livestock Lending at Farm Credit, a role that places him at the heart of the agricultural economy.
His professional accolades are many; notably, in 2017, he was recognized by the Agricultural Leaders of Tomorrow. But Deeken isn’t just a leader in the boardroom—he is a leader in the field. As the owner of Agricultural Application Services, he provides essential fertilizer and lime-spreading services to the farmers. He is also a partner in the Seven Mile Ranch and Cattle Farm.
“While his professional success is impressive, it is his commitment to our parish that truly defines him as a Distinguished Graduate,” said Grellner, noting that Deeken has consistently answered the call to lead, serving on the Parish Council, the School Advisory Board, and as the Parish Picnic Chair.
As a Catholic parent, Deeken models the stewardship way of life. “He doesn’t just talk about faith; he lives it through tireless volunteering and by ensuring that his own children receive the gift of a Catholic education, passing the torch to the next generation,” said Grellner. “The NCEA award is meant to honor those who serve as a ‘light of the world.’ Through his business integrity, his civic leadership, and his devotion to St. George, Brad proves that a Catholic education is not just about what you learn — it’s about who you become.”
