On Thursday, the Lady Comets volleyball team lost to Class 4 St. Francis Borgia, 19-25, 21-25, 9-25.
“We held close with them through the first and second sets, showing strong defensive effort and consistent play,” said Coach Ellie Crede. “In the third set, St. Francis Borgia gained a substantial lead, which challenged us to stay composed under pressure. This matchup gave us valuable insight and allowed us to brainstorm strategies for getting out of slumps more quickly in future games.”

Fatima had the opportunity to play on Cap City’s outdoor court on Wednesday, falling in five sets, 25-19, 19-25, 23-25, 25-18, 11-15. “We have been so blessed this season for getting to partake in monumental games,” said Crede. “Getting to partake in the first game ever played in our new home gym, and then being one of the first groups to have the privilege to play a game outdoors on the football field were great. The outdoor game came with its challenges. There is a huge difference playing in a gym with four walls and a ceiling versus playing outdoors. Your depth perception changes, and it takes time to account for the wind as well. The girls played a phenomenal first and fourth set, getting strong leads each game.”
