Fatima’s track teams each produced strong performances at the Eldon Maroon & Gold Invitational Thursday, with the Lady Comets finishing fourth with 70 points and the boys placing fifth with 91.
Coach Marc Bridges noted continued progress across both teams, highlighted by multiple personal-best performances.
Brie Massman delivered the top performance on the girls’ side, winning the 1600-meter run in 5:33.05.
Maggie Peters earned a runner-up finish in the pole vault at 2.73m.
Melissa Verslues added a third-place finish in the 800-meter run (2:36.33), while Addy Bower cleared 1.42m to place third in the high jump.
The 4x100-meter relay team of Karly Bock, Avery Berhorst, Peters, and Alex Berhorst finished third, as did the 4x400-meter relay team of Bower, Bock, Massman, and Berhorst in 4:26.57.
Bower and Massman led the girls in scoring with 11.5 points each.
Fatima’s boys were paced by a pair of event champions, with Zach Kloeppel winning the 800-meter run in 2:01.88 and Drew Riegel taking first in the pole vault at 4:38m.
Grant Wilbers turned in a strong all-around performance, placing second in the 110-meter hurdles (17.48), third in the 300-meter hurdles (44.03), and third in the javelin (45.58m) to lead the team with 20 points.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Zack Eisterhold, Wilbers, Kloeppel, and Trace Walters finished second in 3:37.75.
Brady Horton added a third-place finish in the 1600-meter run (4:53.62), while Michael Gabelsberger placed third in the 3200-meter run (10:39.68).
