Positive COVID-19 Case Announcement

September 14, 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians of Fatima High School,

The purpose of this letter is to inform you that there is a student at Fatima High School that has tested positive for COVID-19. This individual is now in quarantine.  Within the next 24-48 hours if your student is deemed to have been in contact with this individual you will receive a phone call from either the school or the Osage County Health Department for your child to also quarantine.

It is also the recommendation of the Health Department to do the following:

  •         Monitor your symptoms and take temperatures on a daily basis.

o   If you develop symptoms of a fever, please stay home and contact your doctor by phone.

  •         Continue to wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol if handwashing is not possible.
  •         Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  •         Cover coughs and sneezes.

The Fatima School District will continue to clean and disinfect regularly to help ensure the safety and health of our students.

If anyone has questions or concerns, please contact the Osage County Health Department 573-897-3103.

Sincerely,

Chuck Woody

Superintendent of Schools

Message from Nurse, Lynn Reasons

Just wanted to send out a reminder to please keep your student home and contact their physician by phone if they're exhibiting any covid related symptoms (fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, sore throat, headache, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, new loss of taste or smell, runny nose or congestion, or if they've had close contact to a person with COVID-19 in the past 14 days).

If your child is tested for COVID-19 and receives a negative result, we ask that results be faxed to us at school at (573)455-9884 or be hand delivered to the front office upon their return. If your child sees their physician in person or virtually and the physician gives you guidance on when they're able to return to school, please remember to send in that documentation as well.

The health department also reports that if you, your child, or anyone else living in the home gets tested for COVID-19, everyone who resides in the home should quarantine until you receive the result.

See the "Health" tab for Fatima's sick policy regarding illness this year during the COVID-19 pandemic and please remember to keep your child home if they have symptoms. Thank you for helping to keep our Fatima students and staff healthy so we can prevent the spread of illness and have a great year at school.
