Fatima’s junior high boys’ basketball completed a successful season with a 6-3 record.
“Only having the players for two months out of the year can make it tough, but our players showed up and put their time in and continued to improve over the entire season,” said Coach Cooper Kleffner. “Not only did they improve their skills, but they made practice fun by bringing the energy every day after school.”
The Comets’ best win came against Bland Middle School. After falling 16-3 to start the game, the boys fought back and got their first lead with 45 seconds left.
“There is plenty of talent in the program and Coach (Matt) Baker and I hope that the eighth-graders continue to work on their game for high school basketball as well as the younger kids for next season in junior high,” said Kleffner.
Team members are Bowen Willis, Talon Deardeuff, Brady Backes, Gus Storm, Skyler Powell, Jack Wingrath, Jack Bonnot, Jace Johnston, Kayden Bax, Hudson Voss, Abel Krieg, Conner Peters, TJ Lange, Brooks Robertson, and Alex Warren.
