On Friday, Fatima’s boys’ and girls’ high school teams wrestled School of the Osage, both going 1-1, winning against Macks Creek but losing to the Indians.

“Both the boys and girls wrestled really well and have lots of competition ahead of them this week, with two duals and a tournament,” said Coach Kurt Strope.

Against Macks Creek, the boys had just two contested matches. Logan Laux (150) defeated Owyn Charlton (fall 1:42) and Ryder Herzing (175) beat Calvin Eidson (fall 2:53).

The boys’ dual against Osage came down to the wire, however, with Fatima losing by a single point, 38-37.

Here are the results:

Thomas Kremer (132) defeated Nic Groll (MD 9-0); Tucker Schroeder (138) beat Drake Moore (fall 1:49); Logan Laux (157) knocked off Chase Neiberding (fall 3:12); Herzing (175) beat Brantley Butt (fall 2:23); Conner Willis (215) defeated Brody Price (fall 1:16); Harlan Deardeuff (285) beat Alek Torres (Dec 12-9); William Berhorst (120) lost to Izaiah Vela (TF 18-0 2:51); and Jesse Schroeder (190) fell to Levi Hart (Dec 18-16).

On the girls’ side, Fatima defeated Macks Creek 42-0, with one match contested as Heidi Struemph (130) beat Kamora Merchant (fall 2:49).

Struemph also won her match against Kaylin Pierce in the Osage dual (fall 1:42).

Aubrey Wieberg (100) lost to Cali Glover (fall 0:51),

Elizabeth Meyer (125) lost to Addison Mistler (fall 4:22), Draven Cole (145) fell to Hannah See (fall 0:37), Bailey Buschjost (155) lost to Teighan Carson (fall 0:22); and

Emillie Bonnot (190) lost to Kyla Kempter (fall 3:26).

At the JH level, the Comets wrestled at Osage last Tuesday and at Fulton on Thursday. “The kids went a little over .500 in their matches, winning some and losing some, but all of them are learning from each match and improving,” said Strope.
