Fatima varsity had three wins last week, winning all in straight sets. “This was a detrimental week for our team and increased morale and confidence that was much needed,” said Coach Ellie Crede. “There was all-around consistency with the girls as they played smart and as a single unit. Some strengths were reading the other teams and adjusting when needed. Looking into the coming week, we hope to continue to play to the level of our ability and develop and improve with each game.”

Vivian Bax led with three aces, 18 assists, 17 digs, three blocks, and two kills. Jacey Hoskins added an ace, eight kills, five digs, and an assist. Lucy Crede was solid with 19 digs, 10 kills, three assists, and two blocks. Alayna Backes rounded out stat leaders with eight digs, seven blocks, five kills, and two assists.

In the JV match, Fatima lost 16-25, 18-25.

“Although our team did not have the greatest week, it has been useful in helping us identify what needs improvement,” said Coach Tracy Quinn. “We have focused on a couple of things, an important one being communication. A team cannot run effectively without it, and we hope the girls come together loudly in the coming weeks and push strong through their games and tournaments.”

Addison Lehmen posted an ace, five kills, an assist, and a dig, while Maggie Dickneite had an ace and two kills, and Leah Muenks finished with six digs.

The C team won in straight sets.

“I was impressed with the C team this week,” said Coach Lacy Bertels. “I threw a completely new rotation at them Monday before our home game against Southern Boone. They absolutely crushed it and went 3-0 for the week with it. I think the few tweaks I gave them were what they needed for a mid-season boost. I am excited to continue to watch them develop as we play on, and I have already seen so much individual improvement.”
