Gary Dale Nilges, 79, Linn, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Capitol River Wellness and Rehabilitation in Jefferson City.
He was born on Oct. 22, 1946, to the late Philip and Lillian (Kemmer) Nilges in Jefferson City.
He was a 1964 graduate of Linn High School.
Gary was united in marriage to Agnes Dudenhoeffer on Dec. 2, 1972, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein.
He was employed with the American Cancer Society in Jefferson City until it closed.
Gary is survived by wife, Agnes; children, Aaron Nilges of Linn and Andrea Bethune of Jefferson City; five grandchildren; and sister, Phyllis
Orscheln and husband Don of Linn.
Visitation will be held from 9 until 11 a.m., Friday, June 19, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Catholic Church in Linn, with Rev. Colin Franklin officiating.
Memorial contributions suggested to St. George Catholic Church.
