Imelda Barbara “Millie” Riley, 89, Vienna, passed away Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
She was born May 21, 1936, a daughter of Joseph Michael and Mary Josephine (Hoerschgen) Jaegers in Meta.
She was united in marriage to Sgt. Clemens John Deeken July 21, 1956, and to this union four children were born. He preceded her in death Jan. 27, 1969.
Millie was later united in marriage to Willard John Riley, Sr. Aug. 6, 1983, in Argyle. Willard preceded her in death Feb. 19, 2013.
She was a member of the Visitation Catholic Church in Vienna, VFW Post 8045-Argyle, served as a Eucharistic Minister at Maries Manor for 20 plus years, Catechist, officer and member of the Ladies Sodality, served on the parish council for both the Visitation Catholic Church and St. Aloysius Catholic Church, was a chairman for Voice of Democracy Program with the Argyle VFW, and a member of the National Association of Postmasters of the United States (NAPUS).
During her working life, Millie worked for Kalaf’s Groceries as a salesclerk, worked for her brother, Leonard Jaegers at Jaegers Shoe and Apparel as a manager and salesclerk, and A&B Variety as a manager and salesclerk, all in Meta. She later went to work for the United States Postal Service retiring from the Argyle Post Office as a postmaster after 26 years of service. But Millie will always be remembered as “The Boss” at Argyle Catering!
She enjoyed volunteering her time especially with the Red Cross, as she helped to organize blood drives, volunteered to work them and donated blood. She was also a volunteer escort at the Harry S. Turman Veteran’s Hospital in Columbia, and when she was not volunteering her time, Millie liked to play cards, put together puzzles, watch game shows, and do crafts at the library, however her greatest joy was being with her family, friends and socializing with everyone.
She was preceded in death by first husband, Clemens Deeken; second husband, Willard Riley, Sr.; parents, Joseph and Mary; son, Timothy Deeken; great-granddaughter, Adelyn Heckman; stepdaughter, Connie Stillman; brothers, Leonard Jaegers and wife Helen, Ed Jaegers and wife Delphine, Norman Jaegers and wife Delphine and Jerry Jaegers and wife Viola; sisters, Lucille Viet and husband Gregory and Mary Ann Loethen and husband Harold “Bud”; and son-in-law, Henry Davis.
Mille is survived by children, Janette Davis of Freeburg, Marsha Krone and husband John of Peoria, Ill. and Norma “Pud” Doerhoff and husband Kevin of St. Elizabeth; daughter-in-law, Debbie Deeken of Vienna; Willard’s children, Bob Riley and wife Terry of Cuba and Willard Riley, Jr. of Minot, N.D.; son-in-law, Randy Stillman of Park Hills; grandchildren, Alisha Rehagen and husband Jason, Ryan Davis and wife Daris, Colby Davis and wife Arielle, Emily Banas and husband Mike, Bradley Krone and wife Ashley, Allison Krone, Jason Doerhoff, Ashlee Ryan and husband Matt, Brooke Doerhoff and friend Stanley Heckman, Ryan Hollis and wife Annelise, Kelly Schwartze and husband Andy, Jason Riley and wife Dawn, Stacie Copeland and husband Gary, Ranelle Duncan and husband Nick, Heather McWhorter and husband Scott and Samantha Koelling and husband Andrew; great-grandchildren,Lydia, Jase, Nash, Cohen, Gage, Burkley, Deeken, Rowan, Finn, Mackenzie, Amelia, Finnegan, Elizabeth, Penny, Luke, Bayla, Hunter, Weston, Holden, Riley, Ruby, Tyson, Zoe, Parker, Amber, Adrianna and Rachel; and many other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Oct. 14, in the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Argyle, with Rev. Matthew Flatley and Rev. Basil Tigga officiating.
Interment was in the St. Aloysius Cemetery in Argyle.Pallbearers were grandsons, Ryan and Colby Davis, Bradley Krone, Jason Doerhoff, Ryan Hollis and Jason Riley.
Memorial contributions suggested forVisitation Catholic Church and the Visitation Inter-Parish School.
