Dear Editor,
Events of Oct. 7 in Israel seem contrary to promises the world made to “never forget” what happened to these people throughout history and particularly during WWII. Immediately, across America and Europe pro-Palestinian demonstrations popped up supporting the attack with shouts of “gas the Jews” and “death to America”, causing most of us to shudder in disbelief. Videos and audios recounted hundreds and hundreds of casualties, rapes, and kidnappings carried out with unbelievable brutality and cruelty against the Israeli people. Space limitations dictate I move on but this was absolute butchery. These attackers are radical terrorists – nothing more. Disgusting.
Our World is a pretty troubled place. Americans look to our leadership to remind us we will be safe when tragedy occurs. Well, not this past weekend. Instead of quickly calming the fears of the American people and telegraphing an unambiguous message to Israel, President Biden and wife Jill hosted a bar-b-que for the help at the White House. In fairness, Biden did call PM Netanyahu Saturday “to ensure they have what they need” but the situation demanded a clearer, more immediate message. No doubt, the WH is in full damage control mode to deflect the suggestion that the September release of $6 billion for a prisoner swap with Iran figured into this mess. We used to not “bargain with terrorists”, now we apparently just pay them whatever they want and let the Press put their spin on it. Why is this administration so determined to appease Iran? It is absolute lunacy to believe the $6B hostage ransom will only be used for humanitarian purposes. Unbelievably, Biden failed to even mention Iran when he finally made comments on Tuesday.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken says he has ‘not yet seen evidence’ that Iran was involved, but several preeminent news outlets are reporting the invasion was planned by senior officers of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and four other militant Iranian-backed organizations in meetings that started in August with the final plan green-lighted at a meeting on October 2nd in Beirut. There’s even a list of senior attendees; that’s pretty specific.
This attack should cause Americans to look at our own borders. It’s distinctly possible that among the millions of unvetted illegal immigrants we have in this country that there are terrorist cells among them. CBP has identified thousands of “special interest aliens” from China, Syria, Yemen, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistani, and Turkey. We don’t even know who or where they are now. How hard is it to imagine this resulting in another unanticipated 9/11-styled attack?
It’s obvious we have the Gang that Can’t Shoot Straight working foreign policy in the White House and State Department. Heaven help and protect us and please pray for Israel.
