June Rose Berhorst, 85, Westphalia, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023, at Stone Bridge Assisted Living in Westphalia.
She was born June 25, 1938, to the late Clarence E. and Matilda E. (Scheppers) Cassmeyer in Westphalia.
She graduated from Fatima High School in 1956.
June was united in marriage to Stephen Frank Berhorst Nov. 21, 1959, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia.
She retired from Sears in September 1987 as sales manager after serving 15 years. Following her retirement from Sears, June worked for Kliethermes Decorating.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia.
June enjoyed flower arranging, ceramics, doing crafts, and collecting Denim Days figurines. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan and enjoyed watching them on T.V. Her greatest joys in life were her children and grandchildren who she loved taking pictures of and making albums by the year.
June was preceded in death by husband, Stephen; parents, Clarence and Matilda; and infant brothers, Herman and Harold Cassmeyer.
She is survived by children, Greg Berhorst and wife Phyllis and Dennis Berhorst and wife Dana, all of Holts Summit, Debra Fitzpatrick and husband Roger of Eldon, Darla Veltrop and husband Martin of Taos and Kevin Berhorst and wife Gretchen and Sandra Dulle and husband William, all of Freeburg; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and brother, Charles Cassmeyer and wife Betty.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Oct. 16, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Dylan Schrader officiating.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Westphalia.
Memorial contributions suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association or to St. Croix Hospice.
