Karen Marie Carnes, 72, Chamois, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023, at Stonebridge of Hermann.

She was born Jan. 24, 1951, to the late Adam and Alice (Schaeperclaus) Carnes in Chamois.

She attended school in Chamois.

Karen worked for Sporlan Valve (now Parker Hannifin) in Washington for many years.

She enjoyed “wine time” with family, crafting, and home decorating. Karen was the family historian and enjoyed all things antique, including touring old homes and looking at historic architecture. Her greatest joy came from time spent with her family.

Karen was preceded in death by parents, Adam and Alice; brothers, Martin and Rodney Carnes; and sister, Marlene Lackman.

She is survived by son, Danny Davis and wife Tori of Chamois; daughter, Leah Davis of Rockport, Mass.; brothers, Wesley Carnes and wife Clovice of Enterprise, Ala. and Theron Carnes of Chamois; sister, Linda Buehrlen and husband Junior of Belle; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Deer Creek Church in Chamois with a Celebration of life beginning at noon with Chaplin Bart Larson officiating. Interment will be in the Deer Creek Cemetery.
