Linda R. Sims, 72, Chamois, passed away Friday Jan.16, 2026, at her home.
She was born Aug. 23, 1953, to the late Jesse and Elaine (Weihr) Ferguson in Jefferson City.
She was a 1971 graduate of Chamois High School. After graduating she headed into the workforce where she worked as a switchboard operator at Tan Tara in Osage Beach for several years. Linda then moved on and worked at Precision Art, April Flowers and at Lowe’s, all in Jefferson City before returning to her hometown of Chamois.
She was an avid animal lover and enjoyed the company of furry friends of all shapes and sizes.
Linda also enjoyed the simple things in life like porch BBQs, Nascar races, embroidery, reading, playing cards, listening to her favorite artist Steve Perry and girls’ trips to the Fox theatre.
She was preceded in death by parents, Jesse and Elaine.
Linda is survived by and will be missed by daughter April Mistler and husband Scott of Portland; grandchildren, Jared and Hannah Mistler of Portland; brother, Dale Ferguson and wife Ida of Scranton, Pa.; nephew, Jeremy Ferguson and wife Brooke of Pocatello, Idaho, Sara Haag and husband Bill of Paul, Idaho; and her closest lifelong friends, Rhonda Mitchem and Anne Patlan, both of Chamois and Doug Sims and Tim Smith of Jefferson City.
A Celebration of life was held Friday, Jan. 23 at Houser Millard chapel in Chamois.
