LINN — Linn aldermen, at a special meeting on June 29, approved Bill #2026-012 authorizing Maguire Iron to clean out the water towers and perform additional maintenance. The 10-year contract with Maguire Iron includes clean-outs every third year for $3,350.
Aldermen had approved the contract at a previous meeting, but the only contract available to sign was a 2024 quote that listed a different amount. City Clerk Carrie Grellner said she had not created an ordinance at the time and felt it was necessary to have one for a 10-year contract.
Originally, aldermen reviewed two additional quotes for one-time service from Cunningham ($2,750) and Utility Services Company ($1,735).
Ultimately, aldermen chose Maguire Iron because of the service agreement with the same fee structure over 10 years.
Grellner noted that the contractor will schedule the work as soon as possible.
